While Greg Maqoma's work radiates intellectual rigour it doesn't lack wit, humour or devastating emotional honesty. This choreographer's interest in anthropology and his formative years at Moving Into Dance Mophatong, where he was steeped in the roots of Afro-fusion, inform his vocabulary and artistic ethos. Yet his articulate signature is evolving into a singularly distinctive one which defies stereotyping.
